I am a Kathy Griffin fan, and I found out she was going to be on Larry King Live last night, so I set the DVR and just watched the episode this morning. Kathy was guest hosting the show, and the topic was celebs vs. photogs. They had a female papparazo come on first. She spoke about how a lot of the time the celebs or their management will call and let photographers know where they'll be... which we've heard before, and even about how sometimes the celebs are in on the deals when the pictures are sold.

The next guest was Brooke Hogan. She complained about the photographers and said that she's in for so much more criticism than she thought she would get since signing up for a reality show. (She also said her comments about not being into the whole voting thing were taken out of context and what she meant was that she wanted to be much more informed before she could vote. No comment about a woman being unable to lead the country because of her hormones.) She went on to say that the photographers always start out with nice comments and then if she doesn't respond, the comments become nastier to try to get a reaction. Kathy Griffin made a good point, saying, "I don't know why they ask you a question about things going on, because for the most part, they only have a camera, they're not writing the story, just selling the picture." or something to that effect... I don't remember the exact quote.

Then the female photographer was back, along with her lawyer, to talk about the incident in Malibu where there was a big brawl between photographers and local beachgoers, all caught on film. Dr. Drew Pinsky was also there to talk about the narcissistic state of celebs and how they fuel themselves on the attention, and also how when the photographer is in front of a celeb under a lot of stress, the photographer can become the target just because the celebrity needs to let out some aggression.

But- the next segment was one of the most interesting... it was about two young paparazzi. They are 15 and 16 years old, they work freelance and are home-schooled. I've been trying to find a good article about them or something, I can give you their website: http://www.pintsizepaparazzi.com/ It's very... interesting. There are videos on youtube with them being heckled by other photographers, and even one of Paris Hilton's manager giving him his card. They said they feel like they know Britney and Paris from the time they've spent with them, and that Britney talks to them when they're photographing her. They said they think she's a good mom ( ) but that they also wouldn't tell which celebs call them up to come photograph them because they wouldn't want to ruin the relationship they have with them. They said Adam Sandler gave them a hard time when they photographed him. I'm hoping a good video of the interview shows up on YouTube later.

Anyway, the whole thing was really interesting. Did anyone else see it?
