I am a Kathy Griffin fan, and I found out she was going to be on Larry King Live last night, so I set the DVR and just watched the episode this morning. Kathy was guest hosting the show, and the topic was celebs vs. photogs. They had a female papparazo come on first. She spoke about how a lot of the time the celebs or their management will call and let photographers know where they'll be... which we've heard before, and even about how sometimes the celebs are in on the deals when the pictures are sold.
The next guest was Brooke Hogan. She complained about the photographers and said that she's in for so much more criticism than she thought she would get since signing up for a reality show. (She also said her comments about not being into the whole voting thing were taken out of context and what she meant was that she wanted to be much more informed before she could vote.
No comment about a woman being unable to lead the country because of her hormones.) She went on to say that the photographers always start out with nice comments and then if she doesn't respond, the comments become nastier to try to get a reaction. Kathy Griffin made a good point, saying, "I don't know why they ask you a question about things going on, because for the most part, they only have a camera, they're not writing the story, just selling the picture." or something to that effect... I don't remember the exact quote.

Then the female photographer was back, along with her lawyer, to talk about the incident in Malibu where there was a big brawl between photographers and local beachgoers, all caught on film. Dr. Drew Pinsky was also there to talk about the narcissistic state of celebs and how they fuel themselves on the attention, and also how when the photographer is in front of a celeb under a lot of stress, the photographer can become the target just because the celebrity needs to let out some aggression.
But- the next segment was one of the most interesting... it was about two young paparazzi. They are 15 and 16 years old, they work freelance and are home-schooled. I've been trying to find a good article about them or something, I can give you their website: http://www.pintsizepaparazzi.com/ It's very... interesting. There are videos on youtube with them being heckled by other photographers, and even one of Paris Hilton's manager giving him his card. They said they feel like they know Britney and Paris from the time they've spent with them, and that Britney talks to them when they're photographing her. They said they think she's a good mom (
) but that they also wouldn't tell which celebs call them up to come photograph them because they wouldn't want to ruin the relationship they have with them. They said Adam Sandler gave them a hard time when they photographed him. I'm hoping a good video of the interview shows up on YouTube later.
Anyway, the whole thing was really interesting. Did anyone else see it?

Temperley London
I didn't watch. It sounds interesing, though. I am surprised that those kids parents would let them go out and be in that environment? That leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Oh, and we obvs know Britney is one of the celebs since they think she is a good parent
That Brooke Hogan
thing is laughable! I meam, it's not like they edited and spliced her comments together....how in the WORLD can what she said be taken out of context. Idiot.
1i didn't see it but i'm not surprised. anyone remember that video of zac effron at the gas station when he was filling up his car? he was obviously not expecting anyone to follow him (this was like over a year ago before the mania) and he looked SO nervous/uncomfortable. they kept saying things like "you have a great smile, can you smile for us" then it was something like "whats wrong? why no smile" and just got worse from there. it made me feel sick to my stomach. i don't think he was even 18 and he was being hounded for the first time. poor kid. getting a good pix is worth so much it's like blood sport.
and as for the home schooled kids getting photos, i'm guessing these are the kids that are home schooled because they have no option, behavior issues plus. the parents might use it as a bribe "if you complete the assignments w/o issue you can go chase britney".
2Apparently they are home schooled so that their work doesn't interfere with truancy laws.
3Kathy should know they talk to get a response they can then photograph and attach a fake story too.
If a celeb gets pissed off and frowns then they had a fight with their boyfriend/girlfriend.. they were "caught" doing something they shouldn't and the price just went up.
It used to the photos were taken at public events, red carpet stuff.. you might occasionally get a candid of someone leaving a restaurant or party or club.
Now it is out of control.. they hunt people, run red lights tailing them, purposely block their vehicles, in Lindsay's case ram their car into hers, pinned Arnold in front of his child's preschool, ran Reese Witherspoon off the road, Scarlet got into an accident she claimed was due to the paps, broke into Brad Pitts LA house and just snuck onto his rented property in France in full military fatigues, camo tent, camo netting food for days and a camera lens three feet long.. these people are out of control.
They admitted when Jolie was pregnant with Shiloh that they had no problem trying to break into the maternity ward of Cedars (claiming they had informants inside) and had paid off French nurses thinking she might give birth there and that was before there were any rumors of them considering giving the pictures for charity.. in fact it is probably why they made that decision to foil the plans of these greedy bastards. And probably why they asked an entire country to shelter them.
It is out of control.
4Yeah, I think Kathy knew exactly why, that's what they were talking about... the way they try to get a reaction, the way they say things just to get you to have a certain response, just to get the "right" look on your face.
I can't believe how much pictures go for! It's insane!
5I love Kathy Griffin too, I think she's bold and speak her mind no matter what... I'll watch it today when I get home.

6I watched it, I like Kathy Griffin too, most of the time.
It was interesting.
I watch TMZ on the telly, because you get to see the clip of when the pictures are taken, so you see a little more of the story, and hear them calling out questions, and getting the reactions.
Plus, I have a crush on that long haired pretty boy that works there.

I am a little mad at TMZ currently. They staked out Shia's mom's house and then rushed the poor sweet hippie as she walked to her car to go see him at the hospital.
They yell.. Hey what you think about Shia flipping his car..man?
WTF????
His mom is a sweet lady who didn't want him to get into show biz.. refused to pimp him out.. made him find his own agent.. and only accompanied him to Project Greenlight and When Frank Met Lloyd as a guardian. She has never put herself out there and these ass wipes are camping outside of her house?
Thats not right.
8It probably wasn't my long haired pretty boy though, lol.

I don't know if he actually takes pictures.
I'm not a fan pf the paps AT ALL, I just like to stare at him.
